2024 Impact Stories
At the start of 2024, Tanah Air Udara (Perkumpulan TAU) embarked on its mission to orchestrate synergies for sustainable agriculture and food system development that is both ecologically sound and socially just. Throughout the year, TAU engaged in various creativities aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural practices and raising awareness about the importance of a sustainable Food Systems.
One of the key highlights was the launch of educational campaigns that utilized digital platforms to reach a broader audience. These campaigns emphasized sustainable farming practices, particularly those rooted in the traditions of indigenous peoples and local villages across Indonesia. They also highlighted the vital role of food consumers in driving ecological balance and transforming food systems.
TAU collaborated with local organizations to address a range of issues, particularly focusing on youth contributions to innovative agricultural methods that boost yields while minimizing environmental impact. Additionally, TAU shared smart tips for parents on ensuring safe and nutritious food for children. A landmark achievement in 2024 was TAU’s induction as a member of the Capitals Coalition, a global collaboration of over 400 organizations spanning business, finance, government, academia, civil society, and more. This membership further elevated TAU’s capacity to influence and contribute to global sustainability conversations.
As a growing civil society organization, TAU forged strong collaborations with diverse stakeholders, both within Indonesia and internationally. TAU remained steadfast in its commitment to fostering sustainable agriculture and food systems, actively inviting partnerships with individuals, organizations, and institutions passionate about sustainability. Concluding 2024, TAU reaffirmed its dedication to continuing this impactful journey into the future.
2025 Plan of Actions
Building upon the ventures of 2024, TAU has outlined a plan of actions for 2025:
- Expansion of Educational Outreach:
TAU will enhance its digital presence by creating more engaging and interactive content to educate the public about sustainable agriculture and food systems. This includes interactive exchanges and impactful social media campaigns.
- Community Engagement Initiatives:
TAU projects to arrange community events focusing on children and young adults that spark discussions on ecological and social justice in food systems, encouraging more local and smaller communities to participate actively in the movements.
- Strengthening Collaborations:
TAU targets to to broaden its network by partnering with farmer empowerment groups and food systems transformation-focused organizations, collaborating diversely inter alia for digital media promotion on sustainable practices and the fights against Food Waste and Loss, as well as facilitating access to eco-friendly farming tools and technologies, and others.
- Support for Research and Development:
TAU will continue collaborating with diverse stakeholders to develop and implement innovative agricultural and food system solutions that address pressing environmental challenges.
- Partake in Policy Advocacy:
TAU will continue advocating for policies that support sustainable agriculture and food systems. Special focus will be placed on protecting the rights of farmers and local ethnic peoples, and amplify the active participation of youth and women. The goal is to influence decision-makers at local, national, and global levels to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth.
Through these strategic actions, Tanah Air Udara remains committed to advancing its mission in 2025, striving for a future where agriculture and food systems are sustainable, equitable, and resilient in the face of environmental challenges. Together with its partners, TAU envisions a world where no one is left behind in the journey toward sustainability.
